Examinations
A CLEAR DIAGNOSIS IS ESSENTIAL FOR SELECTING THE RIGHT THERAPY
Duplex ultrasound examinations and color-coded duplex sonography have become highly important elements in the examination of pathological varicose veins.
The Doppler Ultrasound does not only allow for judging the vein patency, but also to determine the direction of blood flow, which provides information on the function of the venous valves. These techniques are frequently combined with functional tests that measure the speed of the flow of blood through the vein in a resting phase.
In many cases, an X-ray with contrast agents is necessary prior to surgery:
We work with the most modern vein diagnostics:
• Measuring the blood flow - Light Reflection Rheography - Retinal Vein Occlusion Plethysmography
• Doppler ultrasound to locate veins
• Color duplex to investigate the deep venous system
• Blood tests - in cases of thrombophilia - in cases of acute thrombosis
